Philadelphia Salon Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

Philadelphia Salon- Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

Philadelphia Salon

If you are looking for a salon in Philadelphia, you definitely need to check out the Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

Here are a few things customers have been saying about this salon:

I have never gotten a bad haircut by Erin in the 3 years I have been going to her! Rebecca is great for color!
Pros: Haircut and color is always exactly what I request.

Cons: None!

-----

As goofy as this may sound, it is so hard to get a decent men's haircut here in the city. I have been to numerous salons here in town, my hair looks great for the first couple of days and then.. A good friend recommended Maria Finizio and I cannot tell you how great this haircut is. It has been over 5 weeks and I wash, towel dry and go. My hair still looks great.

-----

Great cut, great staff, great experience.

Shampoo girl Gabrielle was the highlight of my visit- completely thorough and very personable.

-----

Very few times in my short life have a I had such an experience like the one I had at Richard Nicholas Hair Studio. Through word-of-mouth, I heard wonderful things about the OVERALL experience one receives at Richard Nicholas.

I was lucky enough to have Rose as my stylist. A cute, bubbly early 30's stylist who was nothing short of spectacular. She was very attentive and knew right away how she was going to get to her end result. I had multiple pictures of the style I wanted to achieve. Before the transformation began, we reviewed different angles and came up with a plan of attack in order for the outcome to look identical to the picture.

A gorgeous staff that is happy to help and eager to please. The Richard Nicholas experience is second to none and I am scheduled to go back in a few weeks!

Nadine fixed a disastrous haircut I got years ago and I have been going to her ever since. My teenage boys go to her, too. Her cuts flatter, take off years, and grow in beautifully. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
I just recently got my first amazing haircut and it was at Richard NIcholas Hair Studio! My stylist was Rose, she was so sweet and knew exactly what i wanted!

i have really curly hair and every stylist that has ever put their hands on my head has given me harsh layers but Rose knew exactly how to cut and blend my layers so they didn't look like stacks or steps! She suggested different techniques on how to style my hair to prevent frizz and how to apply the product to my massive amount of hair. She gave so many good tips! I am finally not ashamed of my horrible curls they look beautiful! Thanks to Rose!!
I'm going back for color!

-----

I just started going Richard Nicholas for cut, color(highlight and glaze) after years of just being bored by other salons. The same thing everytime, no new ideas from the stylists, till i came to RN, (by chance) and I had a wonderful experience with Liz . I have been back several times now and I am still impressed. I love this salon, it's so chic and cool. All the stylists are fun and trendy, it makes you feel cool just to be in there. Plus the prices are great, I would recommend her, and this salon to anyone!

-----

I have been going to this salon for years! In fact, I moved away from Philly, and just came back to the area, and back to Joe and Nick Sr. This place is warm, relaxed, and they offer wonderful haircare. Joe is great at coloring, and Nick Sr. gives my long curly hair the TLC it needs! Definitely worth the trip!

Pros: atmosphere, service

Cons: none

Thanks for the great cut Maria, it was so nice chatting with you. I really love my new style, I feel so much younger. See you in 6 weeks for color.

-----

last week was my fist time at the richard nicholas hair salon, it sure will not be me last! i fount a great new stylist, Rose. she did such a great job. i had a full hilight and a blowdry, they both turned out so pretty! i went out straight from the salon and felt so confident. the color was brilliant and my blowout was so sassy!

Pros: great shampoo!

-----

Gabby is learning to cut hair under the supervision of Joey, a stylist that works at the salon. I volunteered for the workshop class and she did a fabulous job! I was also able to learn a lot about my own hair and different types of products I can use. My hair is very thick and curly and she perfected a cut that will help me manage my hair better. Thank you, Gab you did a great job!

Maria at Richard Nicholas Salon never lets me down. She's an amazing stylist and colorist. Maria listens to what you want and always cuts your hair better than than you imagined. She's great at understanding what you want at then creating it. It's always worth my time and money because when I get out of Maria's chair I feel and look great. I highly recommend her. The staff at Richard Nicholas Salon is very personable and will make your hairstyling experience a pleasure. Try it. You will be very satisfied that you did.
I've been going to RN for three years, and it's by far the best salon I've ever been to. I wouldn't trust my hair to anyone but Danielle. She just straightened my hair with a new Keratin Complex Relaxer and it looks Fantastic. After trying everything to straighten my color treated, thick, frizzy, out-of-control hair, Danielle solved my problem and even gave me an outstanding cut as well! The process is great because it didn't change the makeup of my hair like other straighteners. It won't leave that obvious line when it grows out. No burning, no lost hair, just great hair! I just blow-dry it now without spending time with a straight iron and tons of money on product. I've referred quite a few personal friends to Danielle George at RN. She's the Best.

It's always been a challenge for me to find the right hair stylist in the city until I found Richard Nicholas. You're immediately greeted by great receptionists that make you feel good for being there, along with the attractive and stylish atmosphere of the interior. Danielle George has always approached my hair with sophistication and personality at a professional level. She walks you through the cut so you never feel insecure about the process and you know exactly what's going on. She's creative and can educate you with the great hair products that are available at the salon. After all is said and done, she leaves you feeling rewarded with your experience at Richard Nicholas for a reasonable price.

I've been styled here since '97. I love the great work Joe Matteo does, and my narcissistic side loves the compliments that ensue.

I've read about other salons where clients talked about horrible vibes and sadly insecure people who projected their stuff on them.

Huh? In over eight years of getting cut (and occasionally colored) at Richard Nicholas, I've always felt like this was a place I was glad -- no thrilled -- to be.
It's also great to see others walking out of here with great hair and great flow. I lived in DC for 10 years and couldn't find a place like this. Should I find myself elsewhere, knowing that Richard Nicholas is just a train or plane away would be more than enough to keep me coming back.

Steve

PS: Great bookshop (with amazing tea in the basement) on the same block. SET

If you are looking for a salon in Philadelphia, you definitely need to check out the Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

Here are a few things customers have been saying about this salon:

I have nothing but great things to say about this salon! I discovered this salon when I relocated from the NYC Metro area 2 years ago and have never been disapointed.

I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair! Joey has worked with me to create a great style (that I can care for easily) and Rebecca is wonderful with my color--which is no easy task with LOTS of gray and my love of highlighted blonde hair.

The staff is great---and they also have the best shampoos in town.
I can't imagine going anywhere else!

Pros: Skilled Hair Professionals, Nice Ambience, Open 7 Days

Went to Richard Nicholas Hair Studio this past weekend looking for a change. I had no particular haircut in mind, but I wanted something new, edgy and most importantly me. I walked in with curly locks almost shoulder length and exited with a hip cut that definitely accents my curls and lets everyone see my beautiful face (lucky you!).

I went to Rose and she was absolutely 2nd to none. She listened to me, she made sure she was not cutting TOO much off, she obviously knows how to cut curly hair and she was on time.

Well worth the trip downtown and I will come back, no questions asked.

My cousin was Dennie Petrone. For anyone who knew anything about hair stylists, Dennis was the creme'de le creme. He started at Guy Russel, then opened A Cut Above, then moved on to NY. Since he passed (25 years ago), I havent had a decent hair cut. Then, I was introduced to Maria Finizio . She cut and colored my hair the last 2 hair cuts.. It's great. I can do it on my own, and it lonks good even when it is grown in.

Thanks, Maria!

Terry.

Moved here from Chicago. Desperate to find a stylist who could work with thick wavy hair, I turned to City Search for help. I read the reviews on Maria Finizio, picked up the phone and ask for her. Call it coincidence and serendipity... my search has end.

Maria, Thanks. The haircut is great the conversation engaging and fun. See you soon and thanks for saving my hair color too!
There is no mystery here. Experience matters when it comes to hair cutting. Price is no object when it comes to a great cut. The ideal situation is to find a stylist whose scissor's edge stays on top of "trends" as well as can handle the classic strong hair cuts. Maria Finizio has the confidence, the experience and all the technigues to keep my hair current and classic. Great personality, knowledeble about hair and color. I was relaxed in her chair.

Thanks, Maria! See you soon.

I am not surprised to see that Lizz B is getting so much praise. She has been cutting, highlighting, and sexifying my hair for 2 years now, and I will never stray. Make an appointment before word spreads even more. Then just show up and let her work her magic. I never tell her what I think I want, she usually tells me what my hair needs to make it look hot and I let her take it from there. People will stop you on the street and ask you who does your hair- seriously, a Lizz B haircut will make you provocative. Additionally, I have never been more at ease around a hairdresser- We chat like old friends, she tells me about her dogs and her boy and her latest tattoos and adventures, and every time I see her she wants an update on my job, love life, roommates, etc. She really gets to know you and wants to make you look your best. I have 4 friends who religiously go to her as well. She is the real deal- whether you're a boy or a girl, need something business-chic, Asymmetrical, or any color under the sun- She will revitalize your hair and you will turn heads. She is talented and cutting edge, and you should really take advantage of her while she's affordable and available in Philadelphia... because this girl spins hair into GOLD.

Salon Philadelphia Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

The Benefits of Going to a Salon in Philadelphia

If you are looking for a Salon Philadelphia be sure to check out the Richard Nicholas Hair Studio.

Richard Nicholas Hair Studio

Here are a few things customers have been saying about this salon:

This place has more than one Joe. Ask for the one who is by the entrance. He'll give you a great haircut, and he's fun to talk to.

He's in demand, and for good reason, so be sure to call ahead for an appointment.
I was referred to Maria by a colleague. I have extremely wavy hair and my stylist didnt seem to be able to give me a good look. I went to Maria a few days ago. My hair never looked better. I am going back to her for color next week. Thanks, Maria. Great Meeting you.

I have been trying to find a colorist to meet my expectations since I moved to Philly 4 years ago and it has been an ongoing battle! I am incredibly particular with my hair, which I believe most women are. However, I ventured to Richard Nicholas Friday and received the most amazing color! I can't help looking at my hair with a feeling of satisfaction. FINALLY I have someone I can trust to do my color for my wedding!!! Thank you Rebecca, you were so sweet and listened to what I really wanted! I promise to send all of my friends in.

Pros: Rebecca my colorist!

Cons: Not knowing about this place sooner.

-----

I don't say this lightly, but Richard Nicholas really did give me with the best haircut I have ever had. I have seriously (unintentionally) abused my hair over the past 1 1/2 weeks since my haircut ranging from wind drying my hair in the car, not washing it, washing it, not brushing it, over brushing it, putting product in, and not using any product.

Throughout it all, I still have an amazing haircut and have received compliments on it throughout the last 1 1/2 weeks. While Joey provided steps for his trainee which, I think, included a physics equation, he and Abigail were absolutely meticulous in their care and attention to my hair and my comfort level. The result is a cut that is low maintenance and looks good in many settnings, a difficult feat for someone with very curly and thick hair. Hats off!!
Pros: Incredible cut, staff is very detail oriented, customer is really cared for
Cons: None

Hey All! I moved to Philadelphia amost a year ago now from California. I left a great stylist in CA, and since I've moved here I've had bad haircut after bad haircut. I wear my hair short and finding a stylist that can give me a great look is hard to find. I was reccomended to Richard Nicholas by a friend and I got my hair cut yesterday by Joey. I LOVE it!!!!!! I've definately found my new stylist in Phila. GREAT HAIRCUT!

Finally! It took me years to find a stylist like Maria Finizio. She gave me the best hair cut that I have had in years. Classic, very today, and I was even able to style my hair myself. I went back for again for color. Maria is the only stylist that gave me a color that looks NATURAL and not over dried. Being at Wharton, I have tried every salon between Penn and Broad St. Look no further Wharton Alumnus and Students. Maria is exceptional. Actually, she is extremely funny and very informative about the city. Thanks Maria. See you soon.

Pros: Maria Finizio was the Pro and the Reason to return

Cons: none

Being born into a hairdressing family I don't take lightly. I picked my first shears up at 15 and have never put them down. I put my heart, soul and all my energy into every haircut I approach. I understand that I cannot satisfy everyone. I am aware this is a risk that comes with consequences, but I can't say it does't shake my foundation at times, but I take the approach of moving a client into territory they have not gone.
