Salon Philadelphia - Richard Nicholas Hair Studio
Salon PhiladelphiaIf you are looking for a salon in Philadelphia, you definitely need to check out the
Richard Nicholas Hair StudioHere are a few things customers have been saying about this salon:
I have nothing but great things to say about this salon! I discovered this salon when I relocated from the NYC Metro area 2 years ago and have never been disapointed.
I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair! Joey has worked with me to create a great style (that I can care for easily) and Rebecca is wonderful with my color--which is no easy task with LOTS of gray and my love of highlighted blonde hair.
The staff is great---and they also have the best shampoos in town.
I can't imagine going anywhere else!
Pros: Skilled Hair Professionals, Nice Ambience, Open 7 Days

As goofy as this may sound, it is so hard to get a decent men's haircut here in the city. I have been to numerous salons here in town, my hair looks great for the first couple of days and then.. A good friend recommended Maria Finizio and I cannot tell you how great this haircut is. It has been over 5 weeks and I wash, towel dry and go. My hair still looks great.

Went to Richard Nicholas Hair Studio this past weekend looking for a change. I had no particular haircut in mind, but I wanted something new, edgy and most importantly me. I walked in with curly locks almost shoulder length and exited with a hip cut that definitely accents my curls and lets everyone see my beautiful face (lucky you!).
I went to Rose and she was absolutely 2nd to none. She listened to me, she made sure she was not cutting TOO much off, she obviously knows how to cut curly hair and she was on time.
Well worth the trip downtown and I will come back, no questions asked.

My cousin was Dennie Petrone. For anyone who knew anything about hair stylists, Dennis was the creme'de le creme. He started at Guy Russel, then opened A Cut Above, then moved on to NY. Since he passed (25 years ago), I havent had a decent hair cut. Then, I was introduced to Maria Finizio . She cut and colored my hair the last 2 hair cuts.. It's great. I can do it on my own, and it lonks good even when it is grown in.
Thanks, Maria!
Terry.

Moved here from Chicago. Desperate to find a stylist who could work with thick wavy hair, I turned to City Search for help. I read the reviews on Maria Finizio, picked up the phone and ask for her. Call it coincidence and serendipity... my search has end.
Maria, Thanks. The haircut is great the conversation engaging and fun. See you soon and thanks for saving my hair color too!
There is no mystery here. Experience matters when it comes to hair cutting. Price is no object when it comes to a great cut. The ideal situation is to find a stylist whose scissor's edge stays on top of "trends" as well as can handle the classic strong hair cuts. Maria Finizio has the confidence, the experience and all the technigues to keep my hair current and classic. Great personality, knowledeble about hair and color. I was relaxed in her chair.
Thanks, Maria! See you soon.

I am not surprised to see that Lizz B is getting so much praise. She has been cutting, highlighting, and sexifying my hair for 2 years now, and I will never stray. Make an appointment before word spreads even more. Then just show up and let her work her magic. I never tell her what I think I want, she usually tells me what my hair needs to make it look hot and I let her take it from there. People will stop you on the street and ask you who does your hair- seriously, a Lizz B haircut will make you provocative. Additionally, I have never been more at ease around a hairdresser- We chat like old friends, she tells me about her dogs and her boy and her latest tattoos and adventures, and every time I see her she wants an update on my job, love life, roommates, etc. She really gets to know you and wants to make you look your best. I have 4 friends who religiously go to her as well. She is the real deal- whether you're a boy or a girl, need something business-chic, Asymmetrical, or any color under the sun- She will revitalize your hair and you will turn heads. She is talented and cutting edge, and you should really take advantage of her while she's affordable and available in Philadelphia... because this girl spins hair into GOLD.

I've been styled here since '97. I love the great work Joe Matteo does, and my narcissistic side loves the compliments that ensue.
I've read about other salons where clients talked about horrible vibes and sadly insecure people who projected their stuff on them.
Huh? In over eight years of getting cut (and occasionally colored) at Richard Nicholas, I've always felt like this was a place I was glad -- no thrilled -- to be.
It's also great to see others walking out of here with great hair and great flow. I lived in DC for 10 years and couldn't find a place like this. Should I find myself elsewhere, knowing that Richard Nicholas is just a train or plane away would be more than enough to keep me coming back.
Steve
PS: Great bookshop (with amazing tea in the basement) on the same block. SET
